American actress and comedian Cloris Leachman died wednesday at age 94 of her range in Encinitas, California. Cloris Leachman won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress within the film 'The Last Picture Show' (1971) and nine Emmy Awards throughout her career, rose to fame within the US within the 1970s because of various roles in television series.
At the time he also had a prominent role within the horror comedy 'The Young Frankestein' (1974), a movie world-renowned and directed by Mel Brooks. Her beginnings, however, go back to 1946, when she was a contestant within the Miss America competition, a task that led to her television debut a couple of years later. More recently, from 2000 to 2006, she brought the role of grandmother to life within the series 'Malcolm within the Middle', a Fox comedy starring Frankie Muniz that was very successful during the primary decade of the century. For that role, Leachman received five consecutive Emmy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress and claimed victory in 2006.
At age 82, Leachman competed on the show 'Dancing With the Stars', and just before his 90th birthday, he accepted another role within the fantasy series "American Gods" (2017).
After her death was made public,her son stated in statements to Dailygraph that Leachman "had the simplest life from start to end that one could wish for." "She left us all with tons of affection ," he added.
