Help needed from all to lift world out of epidemic: IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva

The Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Kristalina Georgieva , expressed concern over the growing abnormality caused by the Covid-19 epidemic and said that sustainable and balanced revival requires the help of everyone, whether the company or the government or the central bank.

Addressing the World Economic Forum's "Online" Davos Agenda Summit, he said the Monetary Fund has projected the global growth rate for 2021 to be 5.5 per cent, higher than the previous estimate. The IMF chief has also called for steps to help countries falling under the lower income group category.

SHe said in a symposium that the big countries provided assistance of up to 20 per cent of GDP to deal with it during the crisis, while in poor countries it was only 2 per cent of their GDP. And their GDP size is also small. It's disturbing.

For sustainable and balanced revival, everyone needs the help of the government or the central bank, "said Gergeva.
