229 students living in a dormitory in a tribal residential school affected by corona :Washim
Washim: Four teachers, non-teaching staff and 229 students living in a dormitory in a tribal residential school at Degaon in Risod taluka of Washim district have been found to be affected by corona disease in two days. Students at a tribal residential school in Degaon were diagnosed with corona and were examined. In two days, four teachers and non-teaching staff and 229 students have been affected. The dormitory premises at Bhavana Public School have been declared a restricted area. All affected students will be housed in the school dormitory. These include 151 students from Amravati district, 55 from Yavatmal district, 11 from Washim district, three from Buldhana district, one from Akola district and eight from Hingoli district.
The health department should deploy two health teams, including two doctors, in residential schools to treat coronary heart disease students. Also the school management should have a team of staff. The District Collector has instructed the group education officers to review the health of the students, taking care that no student will be inconvenienced.
Separate arrangements have been made for residential and non-obstructed students in the school. Other local students, teachers and non-teaching staff who came in contact with the affected students will be tested for corona. Some of the students found to have coronary heart disease have a slight cold. The rest of the students did not show any symptoms or discomfort, health officials said.
318 affected in Washim district
Outbreaks of corona are on the rise in Washim district, with 318 corona outbreaks on Wednesday. This includes 190 students from a residential school in Degaon. One coroner died in the district and 30 others were discharged after overcoming coronation.
