Mumbai: Malad Police recently arrested an accused from Pune who used to get the numbers of job seekers and make obscene video calls to them. Investigation has revealed that the accused has made obscene video calls to 40 women so far. The investigation revealed that some women hesitated and did not even complain. The accused had used various mobile numbers. Police said further investigation is underway.

The complainant woman is a resident of Malad area and the accused made an obscene video call to her from an unknown mobile number. Because of this, the complainant woman informed her husband about this. After that a complaint was filed with the Malad police. Accordingly, the police registered a case of molestation under Section 354(d) and 509 of IPC. Keeping in mind the seriousness of the case, the police immediately started the investigation. For that, when the information was obtained with the help of technology, the police realized that the accused was in Indori in Pune district. According to this, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Adane, the cyber cell team of Malad Police Sub-Inspector Dhiraj Vaikos, Police Constable Tausif Shaikh and Police Constable Jayant Bharare went to Pune and detained the accused. Preliminary investigation revealed that he had sent messages to the complainant woman. After that, the police arrested the accused. This young man has been identified as Jyotiram Baburao Mansule (27).

Investigation in this case has revealed that the accused sent messages to around 40 women. It was found that the accused used various mobile numbers and sent WhatsApp calls and obscene messages to many women. The police are investigating further in this regard. The accused had come to know that many women who are looking for work join WhatsApp groups while using Facebook. Accordingly, he also started joining such groups. It has been found that he got the women's mobile numbers from there and made obscene video calls.
